Oregon State University Athletics: A Spotlight on Aiva Arquette and the Quest for the Golden Spikes Award
CARY, N.C. – Exciting news has emerged from the Oregon State University baseball program as shortstop Aiva Arquette has been named one of 25 semifinalists for the prestigious Golden Spikes Award, as announced by USA Baseball on Sunday. This recognition not only highlights Arquette’s stellar performance but also reflects the rich legacy of OSU baseball.
Aiva Arquette: A Season of Excellence
Aiva Arquette is no stranger to accolades. The Kailua, Hawai’i native has made quite an impression this season, finishing with a remarkable .348 batting average, leading the Beavers with 17 home runs and an impressive 60 RBIs. His power at the plate is complemented by a robust .676 slugging percentage and a stellar .473 on-base percentage—making a significant impact in every one of the 54 games he has played.
Defensive Prowess
But Arquette’s contributions don’t stop at the plate. As the mainstay at shortstop, he has demonstrated exceptional skill in the field with only four errors, achieving an outstanding .980 fielding percentage. This combination of offense and defense positions him as a key player in the Beavers’ pursuit of excellence.
A Legacy of Honorees
Arquette proudly stands as the 13th Beaver to be named a semifinalist for the Golden Spikes Award since 2007. Notably, he is the fourth player selected during the tenure of Head Coach Mitch Canham, who himself was a semifinalist in 2007. Under Canham’s leadership, players like Cooper Hjerpe and Jacob Melton were honored in 2022, while Travis Bazzana is also in the running in 2024, both of whom later achieved finalist status.
In total, the Beavers have produced four finalists, including Michael Conforto in 2014 and Adley Rutschman, who captured the award in 2019.

For each day of voting, fans can cast their votes as many times as they like—an opportunity for supporters to make their voices heard!
