Starkville, MS – The Mississippi State Bulldogs showcased a spectacular performance on Sunday, unleashing a 10-run barrage against the Missouri Tigers, sealing a commanding 10-2 run-rule victory. This triumph marks an impressive 14th run-rule victory of the season, bringing the Bulldogs tantalizingly close to matching their program record set last year.

Behind a powerful lineup that delivered four thrilling home runs, the Bulldogs (33-11, 9-6 SEC) demonstrated their offensive prowess. Highlighting the day was Kiarra Sells, who achieved her first-ever multi-homer game, while fellow teammates Morgan Stiles and Ella Wesolowski contributed significantly with multiple RBIs. Wesolowski ended the game with a stellar 2-for-3 performance, and Sierra Sacco further dazzled with three hits, reaching base every time she stepped to the plate.
Coach Ricketts’ Strategy Shines
Head coach Samantha Ricketts praised her team’s resilience, stating, "I thought we did a really good job of sticking to our plan." Ricketts emphasized the collective effort as each player showcased their talents, ensuring that the pressure is not solely on pivotal players like Sacco. Wesolowski Sets a New Standard
Wesolowski didn’t just shine at the plate; her standout performance included picking off State’s eighth runner of the year, breaking a team single-season record. With 6-for-8 at the plate during the series—and three doubles—Wesolowski proved to be an all-around force on the field.
