They wanted to donate food intended to sustain them while at sea.
Reverend Matthew Price expressed his astonishment: “This has to rank up there as one of the craziest donations. It’s not every day someone rings you to say they have a cubic metre of meat.”

On May 15, three volunteers and the food bank’s chef were aboard the Stena Immaculate to offload an impressive array of frozen meat and fish. The significance of this donation cannot be overstated; it’s expected to sustain the food bank for several months. This contribution will play a pivotal role in their weekly community meals, catering to around 60 adults every Tuesday.
Mr. Price noted, “One of the biggest costs for sustaining our meal is meat… This donation will keep us going for a long time. It’s completely random, but we are extremely grateful.”
