Yoon Ji Ni: A Journey of Strength and Healing

In March 2025, the beloved actress Yoon Ji Ni, famed for her role in the iconic K-Drama A Gentleman’s Dignity, bravely shared her journey with a heart-wrenching revelation. She disclosed the impact of a second-degree burn that altered her life and appearance during a routine cosmetic procedure.

What Happened? The Incident Unfolded

In 2023, Yoon Ji Ni went to “Dr. A’s” clinic in Seocho-gu, Seoul, seeking three advanced wrinkle treatments, including ultrasound and laser therapies. Tragically, while sedated, she sustained a severe burn to her left cheek, leaving her with a lasting reminder of the incident. Despite the medical staff’s efforts to apply a moisture bandage, the injury was eventually diagnosed as a second-degree burn.

The Road to Recovery: Endless Treatments

Since that fateful day, Yoon Ji Ni has embarked on a tireless quest for recovery, undergoing over 50 treatment sessions to fade the scar. However, her latest YouTube vlog, posted on May 20, 2025, revealed that the scar remains visibly prominent, casting a shadow over her otherwise radiant spirit.

The Cost of Beauty: Financial and Emotional Toll

While dealing with the physical aftermath, the burn scar inflicted an additional financial burden on Yoon Ji Ni. As she began filming for her K-Drama Young Lady and Gentleman, she incurred an astronomical cost of ₩9.55 million KRW (around $6,990 USD) to digitally remove the scar from her scenes.

Legal Battle: Seeking Justice

In a bold move towards justice, Yoon Ji Ni pursued legal action against Dr. A, demanding ₩200 million KRW (approximately $146,000 USD) in damages. The Seoul Central District Court ruled in her favor, attributing the dermatologist’s actions to medical negligence. The court granted ₩50 million KRW (around $36,600 USD) to cover treatment and emotional distress, ensuring a semblance of justice for the actress.

Embracing Life: A New Chapter

Despite these challenges, Yoon Ji Ni’s personal life flourished. She married finance expert Kim Tae Geun in October 2022 and welcomed her first daughter in March 2023. This year, on February 24, she delightedly became a mother for the second time, embracing motherhood with grace.
