Excitement Unfolds as Lindeman Shines at NCAA Outdoor Championships

EUGENE, Ore. – The atmosphere at Hayward Field was electric on Thursday as the Wisconsin Badgers’ women’s track and field team made waves at the 2025 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Among the emerging stars at the event were Chloe Lindeman, Emma Kelley, and Taylor Kesner, each poised to etch their names into the annals of collegiate athletics.

Lindeman Takes Center Stage with Stellar Performance

Chloe Lindeman led the charge for the Badgers, clinching eighth place in the hammer throw, which earned her first-team All-America honors. In her NCAA outdoor championships debut, Lindeman delivered a remarkable throw of 222 feet, 6 inches (67.82 meters), just shy of her record of 222-9 (67.89m) established earlier this year at the Badger Challenge.

“It is just awesome to finish my Badger career with first-team All-America honors,” said Lindeman, her voice brimming with excitement. “This was my first time at outdoor nationals, and it’s amazing to be able to come to this and move up four spots… I’m really proud to represent the Badgers one last time.”

Lindeman leaves Wisconsin as not only the school record holder in the hammer throw and indoor weight throw but also a four-time All-American. Her legacy includes a Big Ten title in the weight throw from 2022, solidifying her status among the elite.

Kelley Concludes College Journey with Honors

Emma Kelley, capping off her collegiate career, contributed to the team’s efforts by qualifying in the 800 meters. She finished sixth in her section and 18th overall with a time of 2 minutes, 4.40 seconds. In her single year with the Badgers, Kelley made a remarkable impact, running a personal-best 2:01.87, which ranks No. 3 all-time in school history—a time not matched by a Badger in over 30 years.

"The past six years with Coach Dave have been amazing. I owe much of my success to him and my teammates," Kelley expressed, highlighting the incredible support she received during her journey.

Kesner Shines in Javelin Debut

In her first event of the championship, Taylor Kesner showcased her talent in the javelin throw, finishing 22nd with a mark of 155-7 (47.43m), earning honorable mention All-America honors. This achievement is a testament to her hard work, as she also received first-team All-America accolades earlier this season for her victory in the indoor weight throw.

“It’s been a whirlwind year,” Kesner noted. “The support from my coaches and teammates has been crucial in my development.”

Looking Ahead: What’s Next for the Badgers?

The action continues as Adam Spencer represents Wisconsin on Friday, competing in the 1500 meters finals at 7:12 CT, with fans encouraged to catch the live broadcast on ESPN2. Kesner will finalize the Badgers’ presence at the championships, competing in the women’s discus on Saturday at 2:30 p.m CT, available to view on ESPN+.

Final Thoughts: A Promising Future Awaits

The 2025 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Eugene are shaping up to be a memorable event for the Badgers, with standout performances from Lindeman, Kelley, and Kesner. With their skill, dedication, and unwavering spirit, these athletes not only represented Wisconsin but also set a high standard for the future.
