Raymond McMaster: The Champion Dad and Mentor Making Waves in Family and Sport

As a proud father of five and the reigning Rangers Sporting Clay Champion, Raymond McMaster’s legacy transcends trophies – it lies in the profound love, discipline, and faith he has instilled in his family. Notably, his youngest daughter, Aliana, has followed in his footsteps, carving out her own legacy as a champion in the sport.

Balancing Life as a Multifaceted Champion

At 54, McMaster embodies the spirit of resilience and dedication. He wears many hats: entrepreneur, champion marksman, and devoted husband to Wendy McMaster. His pride swells as he mentions his children: Lori Anne, 32; Travis, 31; Leanne, 27; Abigail, 21; and Aliana, 18. Among these roles, it is his title as a father that holds the deepest significance.

McMaster’s triumph at the 2025 Rangers Sporting Clay Championship, where he secured the title of Overall Male Champion with 95 points, was a testament to his perseverance after a three-year journey filled with near misses. However, it was the shared spotlight with Aliana, who clinched both the Ladies Champion and Junior Champion titles with an impressive 90 points, that made this victory truly unforgettable. Together, they made history as the first father-daughter duo to win top titles at the championship.

“First, I lost in a shoot-off. Then I came second. Last year, I missed the win by just one target,” McMaster reflected. “So to finally win this year – and have Aliana win, too – it’s incredibly special.”

A Commitment to Family Values

While McMaster successfully runs a network of Master Mac Food Stores and C&M Meats Ltd., his heart lies not in business profits but in being a present, intentional father. He believes that fatherhood is a divine calling, rooted in faith and family tradition.

“As a father, I instill in my children the importance of making God their rock, valuing family, and understanding the discipline it takes to succeed in life,” McMaster emphasized. “Those are the things that matter most.”

Daily Rituals: More Than Just Family Time

Despite his busy schedule, McMaster makes it a point to keep family traditions alive through daily rituals, such as shared breakfasts and dinners.

“That’s a tradition we stick to. I try not to let my professional life distract from time dedicated to my family,” he shares. “Being at the range for practice or competition feels like an extension of that – it’s really just time well spent with my family and friends.”

Through shooting, McMaster conveys values like responsibility, focus, sportsmanship, and work ethic to his children. Two of Aliana’s siblings share her passion for the sport, while others pursue their own athletic dreams.

“It means a lot to see my kids succeed at whatever they choose, but more than anything, I want them to be happy, God-fearing, and good people,” he reflects. “Life and success is a journey, and I try to teach them that every day.”

Aliana: Finding Her Passion

Aliana’s journey into the shooting world began at 11, initially tagging along on family outings. Observing her father’s calm confidence ignited her interest in the sport.

“I remember thinking, ‘If you can’t beat them, join them.’ So I told my dad I wanted to start shooting, too, and I fell in love with the sport,” she recalls.

Balancing her demanding academic schedule at Campion College with training at the range can be challenging, but any time spent with her father is cherished.

“We practice together, but not as often as I’d like. Her schedule is demanding, but any time we get to shoot side by side is a blessing,” McMaster notes.

A Lasting Impact

Reflecting on his daughter’s determination, Aliana expresses admiration for her father’s innate intuition.

“He knows when something’s wrong or right, and he’s always there – whether it’s to listen, encourage, or pray with us,” she shares.

One of McMaster’s proudest moments occurred at the World English Sporting Clay Tournament in England, where Aliana showcased unparalleled focus and skill, winning by three clear targets.

“Watching her grow has been one of my greatest joys,” McMaster reflects. “She’s focused, driven, and has a deep desire to excel not just in sport, but in life."

Legacy of Love and Values

Through consistent guidance rooted in faith, discipline, and family values, McMaster’s quiet influence has shaped his children into individuals who embrace their paths with humility and purpose.

"For me, the true measure of success lies not in accolades, but in raising children who are grounded, driven, and prepared to walk their own paths with integrity," he concludes.

Raymond McMaster is not just a champion marksman; he is a dedicated father, mentor, and a living example of how love, patience, and faith can cultivate extraordinary legacies in both sport and life.
