As the couple emerged from the Church of Christ The King, a breathtaking musical backdrop unfolded with the tune "After All" by The Frank and Walters, transporting Turners Cross into a vibrant celebration comparable to a beachside atmosphere.
A Night to Remember
Married by Fr. Noel O’Sullivan, Alisha and Brian hosted their reception at the Radisson Blu Hotel & Spa in Little Island, where friends and family gathered to celebrate their union. The evening was enlivened by performances from West Cork duo Orla and Niall in the church, followed by entertainment from Cathal Fitz during the drinks reception, ensuring that every moment was filled with melody and laughter.
Cherished Moments and Emotional Tributes
Alisha was deeply touched as her family, including her mother Martina Heffernan and grandmother Helen Heffernan, along with Brian’s parents Christine and Paul Cahill, led heartfelt toasts. However, one notable name missing from the day was Alisha’s late father, Liam Heffernan, who was lovingly commemorated through a memorial table and a special bouquet charm. Alisha shared, “It was a very emotional day as we missed my dad greatly.”
The sentiments ran deep as Alisha received a bracelet engraved with a personal message from her father’s handwriting, a heartfelt gift from her mother and sister that added a personal touch of love to the occasion.

The couple’s love story began with a touch of fate through family connections; Alisha’s grandmother and Brian’s mother were friends for over 20 years. One charming anecdote from the day included Alisha finding a ladybird in her dress during the photoshoot. “I like to think it was my dad’s way of letting me know he was around,” she remarked, highlighting the spiritual and emotional significance of the occasion.
For the reception, the couple themed their entrance to resemble a darts walk, complete with commentary by the legendary John McDonald. With music from the The Old Moderns and DJ Bertie, the dance floor was alive with energy all night long!
