Remembering Butch Abrahamson: A Life Well-Lived in Duluth
With heavy hearts, we share the news of the passing of Butch Abrahamson, a beloved figure in Duluth, MN. At the age of 83, Butch left this world peacefully on June 24, 2025, surrounded by family at St. Luke’s Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.
Early Life and Family Roots
Born on November 26, 1941, in the heart of Duluth, Butch’s journey was defined by love and dedication. He married the love of his life, Cindy Abrahamson, on August 24, 1968. Together, they created a beautiful family, raising two sons, Eric and Shawn, who were the pride and joy of their lives.
A Legacy of Love and Family
Butch’s story is a testament to familial bonds. He is preceded in death by his loving parents, Russell and Lucille (Grannan) Abrahamson, his cherished wife Cindy (Schueller), and his siblings: Roland “Nick”, Dale “Pete”, and Lynne “Cookie” Donoho. His legacy, however, continues through his surviving family, which includes his sister Beverly “Ruby” VanWave, brother Gordon “Corky” (Gail), along with his two sons and their families. Butch was a proud grandfather to Gustaf, Megan, Nicholas, and Alyssa, who will carry his spirit forward.
Celebration of Life: Join Us in Remembrance
A celebration of Butch’s life will be held on July 15, 2025, at First Memorial Funeral Chapel in Duluth. Family and friends are invited for visitation at 2 PM, followed by a service at 3 PM. This gathering will be a wonderful opportunity to share stories, reminisce about cherished moments, and honor the man many called friend, brother, father, and grandfather.
