To do this, we engineered a classifier capable of accurately predicting the race and gender of generated faces. This classifier not only demonstrated state-of-the-art performance but also unveiled the stark reality that a majority of faces produced by SDXL predominantly feature White males—a trend reaffirmed by researchers like Ghosh and Caliskan. Alarmingly, the representation of Asian and Indian faces is starkly low, at just 3% and 5% respectively.
