As the Product Marketing Manager for our assessment offerings, you’ll play a critical role in educating and persuading school districts to adopt our groundbreaking tools for monitoring and assessing student progress. This dynamic position involves supporting sales teams, crafting go-to-market strategies, and collaborating closely with our product development teams. Ideal candidates include former educators who have made the leap into marketing.
Key Responsibilities
Market Landscape Analysis
- Conduct extensive market analyses to identify trends and challenges in the K-12 assessment landscape, including competitor offerings.
- Work with product and user research teams to gather insights directly from educators about their assessment tool preferences.
- Develop a systematic approach to gather customer feedback from our market-facing teams in Sales and Professional Learning.
Messaging & Positioning
- Create compelling messaging that conveys the unique value of Khan Academy’s assessment capabilities, ensuring alignment with our broader offerings.
- Focus on customer insights to tailor messages relevant to administrators and educators.
- Collaborate with product teams to ensure messaging accurately reflects our latest features.
Go-to-Market Strategy
- Identify ideal customers and develop a targeted list of school districts.
- Formulate and execute a comprehensive go-to-market plan, including promotional campaigns that engage school districts.
- Design and implement targeted campaigns through email marketing, social media, webinars, and industry events, creating engaging content like blog posts and infographics.
Sales Enablement
- Develop resources for the sales team, including sales decks, demos, and brochures. Equip them with key talking points to address customer questions.
- Ensure sales materials reflect the latest assessment narratives.
- Provide sales teams with in-depth knowledge of product features and competitive insights.
- Performance Tracking
- Monitor performance against key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess progress toward goals.
- Utilize data-driven insights to refine strategies continuously.
What You Bring to the Table
- A strong motivation to fulfill Khan Academy’s mission to provide a free, world-class education.
- Proven cross-cultural competency and a commitment to fostering an inclusive environment.
- 5+ years of teaching experience, preferably in roles selecting and implementing assessment tools.
- 3–5 years of product marketing experience in the edtech space.
- Exceptional project management skills, capable of breaking down large initiatives into manageable tasks.
- A deep understanding of K-12 education systems and assessment practices.
- Strong communication skills that allow you to convey complex ideas clearly.
