As the Assistant Coach, you will report directly to the Head Women’s Soccer Coach, helping to shape the future of the team’s performance while also upholding the university’s commitment to academic excellence and Christian values.
Key Responsibilities
Coaching & Player Development
In this position, you’ll be entrusted with the critical task of planning and executing team practices along with crafting game strategies and player development programs. All activities will align with NCAA regulations, ensuring the athletes are well-prepared for success.
Recruiting & Talent Identification
Your expertise will be instrumental in supporting the recruiting efforts by identifying and evaluating potential student-athletes. You’ll seek out talent that embodies the characteristics and values of the program, helping to elevate the team’s overall performance.
Compliance & Administration
In collaboration with the compliance office, you’ll ensure that the program adheres to all NCAA rules and regulations. Additionally, you will coordinate with Admissions and Financial Aid offices to streamline operations for recruited students.
Academic Support
You will play a pivotal role in the academic development of athletes by monitoring their academic progress. Collaborating with academic staff, you’ll ensure that each athlete meets eligibility requirements and is on track to successfully complete their degree.
Fundraising & Program Support
Working alongside the Head Coach, you will contribute to fundraising initiatives that help enhance the Women’s Soccer program. You’ll also assist in managing budget-related tasks in partnership with the Business Operations Assistant.
Leadership & Representation
As an ambassador for Charleston Southern University and its Athletics Department, you will represent the university with utmost professionalism, integrity, and a strong commitment to Christian values.
Qualifications and Required Skills
Experience
To excel in this role, candidates should possess:
- Collegiate and/or professional coaching experience in soccer.
- Competitive playing experience at either the collegiate or professional level.
- Familiarity with athletic management software, such as ARMS or JumpForward.
