Role Overview: Your Chance to Shine
As the primary media contact for Simmons Athletics, you will oversee various communications, media relations, and digital marketing initiatives supporting 11 NCAA varsity sports. Your storytelling prowess will guide the strategic approach to social media, website management, and live streaming efforts, ensuring that Simon’s vibrant athletic culture is effectively communicated.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Media Contact: Act as the go-to contact for NCAA teams and the Athletics & Recreation Department.
- Website Management: Ensure the official athletics website (athletics.simmons.edu) is always fresh and engaging.
- Social Media Strategy: Develop and implement an innovative social media strategy across multiple platforms.
- Content Creation: Craft compelling game recaps, press releases, and feature stories showcasing student-athlete accomplishments.
Additional Responsibilities
As part of your role, you will also:
- Coordinate game day operations, which include live stats, public address announcements, and live streaming.
- Maintain detailed statistics and compliance reporting for the NCAA and other athletic partners.
- Collaborate with various departments such as marketing, admissions, and advancement to strengthen athletic storytelling efforts.
What You Bring to the Table
To excel in this role, you should possess:
- Passion: An unwavering commitment to collegiate athletics and a dedication to promoting both academic and athletic success.
- Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years in athletic communications or sports information, along with proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office, and *Google Suite.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with LiveStats and web content management systems, ideally Sidearm Sports.
