ATLANTA, Ga. – The Augusta University men’s track and field team wrapped up an exhilarating regular season at the highly competitive **Georgia Tech Invitational** this past weekend. Athletes showcased their incredible talent, achieving impressive times and marks across a range of **sprints, distances, and field events**. Let’s dive into the highlights of this thrilling event!

Sprints and Relays: Speed in Every Stride

Leading the charge for Augusta was freshman Jalen Belton, who clocked in at an impressive **10.65 seconds** in the 100 meters, securing **18th overall**. Hot on his heels were teammates Devin Barolette (11.12), Michael Meriweather (11.19), and Trent Thomas (11.34), representing the vigor of Augusta’s sprint crew.

Belton didn’t stop at the 100 meters; he also dominated the **200 meters** with a strong finish of **21.90 seconds**. Barolette followed closely, clocking a solid **22.11 seconds**. In the 400 meter event, Charlie Roberts shone brightly, running a stellar **49.24 seconds** while both Roberto Barrera (49.88) and Mykel Thompson (50.79) showcased their strength with outstanding efforts. The 4×400-meter relay team of Roberts, Barolette, Amir Dayal, and Barrera combined to clock in at an impressive **3:22.50**.

Middle Distance and Distance: Endurance Meets Excellence

In the realm of middle distance, seniors Amir Dayal and Seth Eye both clocked impressive times of **1:54.72** in the 800 meters, illustrating their competitiveness. Following closely were Noah Shepherd with **1:56.70** and David Ajuzie at **1:59.02**. During the 1500 meters, Patrick Motes zoomed to a time of **3:59.04**, with Eye (3:59.56) and Shepherd (4:14.45) in close pursuit.

The long-distance event showcased the remarkable efforts of Matthew Moore, who led the charge in the **5000 meters** with a stellar time of **15:21.63**. He was followed by teammates Brandon Martin (15:26.24), Eli Corn (15:34.01), and Elijah Fitts (16:01.82), showcasing their depth in this challenging discipline. In the **3000-meter steeplechase**, Andrew Todd finished **ninth** at **9:24.28**, followed closely by Andrew Helfers (9:26.48), Carter Dehnke (10:27.95), and Shahzeb Rashid (10:40.05), solidifying their strength and commitment to excellence.

Jumps and Throws: Elevating Performance

The field events were equally exhilarating! In the **high jump**, Mitchell Jean Baptiste cleared an impressive height of **2.03m (6′ 7.75″)**, landing him in sixth place, while David Batts followed with a solid **1.90m (6′ 2.75″)**. In the javelin throw, Ryan Lee tossed a noteworthy **50.96m (167′ 2″)**, finishing **12th**, with Joshua Bowen not far behind at **49.75m (163′ 3″)**.

As the regular season comes to a close, the Jaguars now set their sights on the **Peach Belt Conference Championships**, scheduled for **April 28–29 in Daytona Beach, Fla.** This is where they aim to showcase their prowess on a larger stage.
