Men’s and Women’s Basketball Shine in Academic Excellence: 26 Honored on CSC Academic All-District Teams

MANSFIELD, Mass. – In a testament to both athletic prowess and academic excellence, the Northeast-10 Conference (NE10) has proudly announced that a remarkable 26 student-athletes from men’s and women’s basketball have earned spots on the prestigious College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District teams. This prestigious announcement, made on Tuesday, highlights the impressive balance these athletes maintain between rigorous academics and competitive sports.

Celebrating Academic All-District Recognitions

The 2024-25 Academic All-District teams serve as a platform recognizing the nation’s finest student-athletes across the NCAA and NAIA, celebrating their accomplishments both on the court and in the classroom. This honor not only underscores the hard work of these athletes but also sets the stage for potential advancement to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. Selected student-athletes, denoted with an asterisk (*), now have the opportunity to be voted on by CSC members for a chance to shine on the national stage.

Keys to Advancement: NE10’s Brightest Minds

The NE10 proudley boasts six remarkable athletes who have advanced to the national ballot — two men and four women. This represents a significant achievement within the conference, further establishing the NE10’s commitment to excellence. Mark your calendars, as the Academic All-America teams will be announced on April 15 (men) and April 16 (women).

Spotlight on the Standouts

Bentley University led the way in men’s basketball with a total of three selections, including standout player Cash McClure, who not only made the Academic All-District team but also advanced to the Academic All-America ballot. Joining him is Tray Alexander from Pace University, recently honored with accolades from both the D2CCA and NABC as an All-American. This recognition is not merely a reflection of talent but also of hard work and dedication.

On the women’s side, Pace University and Southern Connecticut State University both contributed four players to the Academic All-District teams. Highlights include Kaitlyn O’Connell from Adelphi, Maggie Whitmore from Bentley, Colette Mulderig of Franklin Pierce, and Katie Williamson of SCSU, all of whom have earned a place on the Academic All-America ballot as well.
