Meet the Heart of Thai Express: Wantana Lindquist
Wantana Lindquist, the passionate managing chef, takes immense pride in showcasing authentic Thai cuisine. Alongside her siblings, she emphasizes the importance of the festival—an opportunity for guests to immerse themselves in the rich tapestry of Thai culture. "It’s a good time for us to open ourselves up to the public to know more about Thai culture and food better," Lindquist shares.

This year, attendees can anticipate a tantalizing array of dishes and appetizers that are sure to awaken the senses. Curious about her menu? Watch this video to see how she plans to showcase the distinct flavors of Thailand.
The Economic Backbone of the Festival
For nearly 30 years, Thai Express has become a cornerstone of the Cincinnati dining scene. However, like many, they face challenges from rising prices. The Asian Food Fest provides a vital boost, allowing them to connect with loyal customers while attracting new patrons. “People love us, so they come back to see us at the store. That is how we generate our income,” Lindquist explains.
She notes that summer months are often slower, making the festival a crucial event to help cover expenses. "It just covers our expenses and leaves some money left over for people," she adds.
Anticipating a Spectacular Turnout
This year, the enthusiastic team at Asianati, who organize the food festival, is prepared for a remarkable turnout. “We’re expecting more than 120,000 people to come out,” shares Liam Dang, the marketing director. With more entertainment and activities lined up than ever, this year’s festival promises to be unforgettable.
Activities for Everyone
In an exciting twist, this year’s festival will also feature early morning yoga sessions. “If you want to get a good workout in before you come, do the yoga,” urges Dang. It’s a fantastic way to kick off a day filled with dazzling cultural experiences.
