East Hampton’s LDV at the Maidstone Hotel: A Summer of Luxe Partnerships

Last summer, the 150-year-old Maidstone Hotel in East Hampton reopened its doors, rejuvenated under the watchful eye of LDV Hospitality, the group renowned for iconic establishments like NYC’s Scarpetta. Now known as LDV at the Maidstone, the hotel has transformed into a luxurious oasis, replete with delectable Italian cuisine and an inviting atmosphere.

A Taste of European Elegance

The experience begins with the hotel’s enchanting daily aperitivo hour in the garden—a perfect ode to the Italian tradition of leisurely socializing over drinks. This summer, the Maidstone is embracing an even greater level of European elegance through exciting new partnerships that will elevate the guest experience.

Collaborations That Inspire

New this season, the hotel has partnered with Sézane, the beloved French fashion brand, and Ginori 1735, a prestigious Italian luxury dinnerware company. These collaborations promise to infuse the hotel with an irresistible charm and sophistication.

"We want to bring this La Dolce Vita lifestyle to the Hamptons," says John Meadow, founder and president of LDV Hospitality.

Sip and Shop: The Sézane Pop-Up

From June 20 to July 27, guests can enjoy a unique shopping experience at Sézane’s pop-up shop nestled in the hotel’s back garden. Behind lush hedges, visitors can sip on refreshing spritzes and select from a delightful summer capsule collection, highlighted by the famous Justine basket bag and limited-edition items.

"Working with Sézane was a natural choice; they exude a spirit that is young, fresh, fun, and whimsical," Meadow explains. Guests can even discover Sézane products awaiting them in their rooms, adding to the delightful surprises that the hotel has in store.

Ginori 1735: Elevating Dining Experiences

In addition to fashion, the hotel’s dining experience will be graced by items from Ginori 1735, famous for its exquisite porcelain table settings. "It’s like Bergdorf-caliber, fancy China," notes Meadow, highlighting the high quality and aesthetic appeal of the brand.

Art on a Plate

Chef Jorge Espinoza, who oversees the hotel’s restaurant, is already serving his signature spaghetti alla nerano on Ginori 1735’s Oriente Italiano plates. This summer, every dish—whether enjoyed indoors or al fresco—will be presented on the brand’s luxurious tableware.

Moreover, Ginori 1735 isn’t stopping at plates. The collaboration includes vibrant printed pillows, umbrellas, and throws for the garden, offering guests a cozy ambiance to unwind. A pop-up shop in the hotel lobby will allow fashion enthusiasts to snag the latest from Ginori 1735, ensuring that these luxurious designs can be brought home.

Meadow recalls, “I watched guests last summer peering at the bottoms of the plates to see their maker. Why not let them bring a piece of that elegance home?”

Conclusion: A Summer to Remember

The resurgence of LDV at the Maidstone epitomizes a delightful blend of luxury, style, and immersive experiences. Offering an extraordinary summer filled with fashion and culinary delights, it’s the perfect destination for those looking to embrace the good life in East Hampton. So, pack your bags and prepare to enjoy a season brimming with elegance and sophistication.
