### Panther Stars Shine in Steeplechase
**Rylea Borgic** and **Cale Smith** kicked off the day with an electrifying victory in the **3000m Steeplechase**, demonstrating their skill and endurance. Borgic blazed through the finish line at **11:09.56**, while Smith wasn’t far behind, securing his win with a time of **9:25.19**. Both athletes set the tone for an exciting day ahead.
### Relay Team Triumphs
Shortly after the steeplechase victories, the EIU men’s and women’s **4x100m relay teams** took center stage, each clinching a **gold medal**. The men’s team, composed of **Nathan Kirby**, **Daniel Lacy**, **Shawn Lacy**, and **Jahleel Perrin**, recorded a blistering time of **41.46 seconds**. Meanwhile, the women’s squad, featuring **Angela Dobbins**, **Kenyetietta Quinn**, **MaKenna McBride**, and **Abby Venhaus**, clocked their **season-best** time of **46.68 seconds**, adding to the triumphant atmosphere.
### Dominance in the Field Events
Eastern Illinois showcased their prowess in the **field events**, particularly with the outstanding performances from **Isabella Fabrizio**, **Emily Sykes**, and **Gracie Cox**. Fabrizio reigned supreme, grabbing **gold** in both the **hammer throw** with a toss of **48.85m** and the **shot put** at **13.30m**. Sykes earned a commendable **second place** in the shot put with a throw of **12.98m**, and Cox’s impressive **44.08m** in the discus secured her **second place** finish as well.
On the men’s side, **Sam Bradbury** demonstrated his strength, finishing **second** in both the shot put (**15.56m**) and discus (**47.05m**), pushing EIU’s field presence to new heights.
### Quick Sprints and Jumps
Panther speedsters transcended in the **100m dash** with **Shawn Lacy** snagging **gold** with a time of **10.74 seconds**, while **Abby Venhaus** made waves in the women’s category, clocking a **season-best** of **12.05 seconds** for a **second place** finish.
### High Jump Heights
The high jump event was a playground for EIU as **Elijah Skutt** soared to victory with a **season-best jump of 2.01m**, earning him top honors. Freshman sensation **Abraham Johnson** didn’t just stop there; he followed with a season-best of **1.98m**, claiming **second place**, and later stunned the crowd with a **first-place** finish in the **triple jump**, landing at **15.31m**.
### Hurdles and Sprints
Both **Hallee Thomas** and **Tyler Miller** made an impact in the **400m hurdles**, finishing **second** in their categories. Thomas recorded a time of **1:03.06**, while Miller stamped his mark with **56.41 seconds**. Additionally, **Daniel Lacy** proved his mettle in the **400m**, achieving a personal record while finishing second with a time of **46.93 seconds**.
In the **200m dash**, **Kenyetietta Quinn** celebrated a personal record of **24.62 seconds**, clinching **second place**. **Angela Dobbins** trailed closely behind for third place with a time of **25.56 seconds**, while **Jahleel Perrin** finished strong, marking his personal record of **21.73 seconds** and securing the **silver medal**.
