Job Summary: The Heart of Youth Football Expansion

As a Football Development & Marketing Seasonal Assistant, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting the Chiefs’ brand strategy focused on youth football. Reporting directly to the Youth Marketing Manager, you will collaborate with multiple departments within the organization to craft and execute impactful youth football initiatives. Your responsibilities may include:

  • Building substantial connections with high schools and flag football organizations.
  • Pursuing program opportunities both domestically and internationally.
  • Applying for grants from the NFL Foundation to bolster youth programs.
  • Assisting in the execution of large-scale events that foster community engagement.

Additionally, your creativity will shine through, as you help develop and implement marketing strategies for the Chiefs’ partners in flag football activities.

Responsibilities: What Will You Do?

This dynamic role carries a variety of responsibilities that are vital to the Chiefs organization. Here are some of the key tasks you will undertake:

Engage with the Community

  • Act as a liaison: Represent the Chiefs while communicating with high schools, flag football leagues, and community groups.
  • Plan and execute events: Oversee high school tackle and flag football events, ensuring they run smoothly and successfully.

Build Relationships

  • Connect with youth networks: Initiate outreach to educators and coaches to strengthen ties within the community.
  • Coordinate programs: Lead communication efforts for the Coaches of the Week and Chiefs Youth Tradition Teams of the Game.

Enable Growth

  • Increase participation: Assist in implementing youth outreach plans aimed at boosting participation in Kansas and Missouri youth football.
  • Research opportunities: Conduct research on the growth and expansion of flag football both in the U.S. and abroad.

Collaborate Effectively

  • Work in unison with the communications, partnership, community, and digital media teams to ensure comprehensive support and execution of events.

Required Hours: Commitment to Your Passion

As part of this role, you will be required to commit to 40 hours per week (8:30 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday), including availability for games and events starting May 2025 through February 2026.

What You Need: Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, candidates should possess the following skills:

  • Knowledge of Football: A solid understanding of both American football and flag football rules is essential.
  • Organizational Skills: Superior organization and a keen eye for detail in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment are critical.
  • Communication Abilities: Excellent written and oral communication skills are a must, along with strong interpersonal skills to foster robust relationships.
  • Physical Capability: Candidates should be able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50+ pounds.

Educational Background: A Path to Success

Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree from a four-year accredited college or university. Previous experience in events or youth football programs is preferred, as is coaching experience in football camps and clinics.
