Recent Achievements: K-State’s Momentum

Kansas Cup Triumph

In a stellar showcase last year, the Wildcats claimed the Kansas Cup, dominating in the 1v8+, 2v8+, and 3v8+ events. Although Kansas clinched victory in the 2024 showdown, the Wildcats proved their mettle with wins in the 1v4+ and 3v8+ categories.

Medal Wins at the SIRA Championship

The Wildcats recently showcased their talents at the SIRA Championship on April 18-19 in Oak Ridge, Tenn., returning home with four medals; including silver for both the 1v8+ and 2v8+, a bronze for the 1v4+, and a dazzling gold in the 3v8+ as a novice boat.

These achievements have not gone unnoticed, as the 2v8+ earned K-State a consecutive Big 12 Boat of the Week honor on April 24.

A Season of Success: Consistent Wins

The Wildcats began their season with gusto, recording five wins against Central Oklahoma and Tulsa on March 8, followed by an impressive six wins during the Hornet Invitational on March 14-15. The momentum continued with their strong performance in Sarasota and a successful outing against Creighton on April 13.

The Goals Ahead:

Coach Sweeney is focused on medaling at the conference championship, emphasizing, “We want to put as many boats as we can in a position to medal.” With excitement and determination, the Wildcats approach the Sunflower Showdown ready to face their rivals head-on.
