SARASOTA, Fla. – In a thrilling conclusion to the 2025 spring season, the K-State women’s rowing team showcased their talent at the Big 12 Championship held at the esteemed Nathan Benderson Park. The Wildcats clinched an impressive haul of two silver and one bronze medal, propelling them to a commendable fourth place overall.
A Weekend to Remember
Reflecting on the team’s performance, head coach Patrick Sweeney expressed immense pride. "The team did a good job this past weekend. We raced well across all boats, and it was a wonderful way to wrap up the year," he said. His words echoed the sentiment that "a medal for one boat is a medal for the whole team."
Despite fierce competition, the Wildcats finished with 49 points, just three points shy of third-place rival Kansas—a significant achievement marking their highest finish since 2019.

The day began with the 3v8+ earning a bronze medal for K-State with a time of 7:17.59. Freshman Lacy Miller commented, "We changed our race plan for the second half, which made a noticeable difference in our efficiency." This keen adaptability proved vital as they surged ahead in the final stretch.
The 2v4+ followed suit with a silver medal finish, clocking in at 7:47.86, showcasing months of targeted training. "This race proved that all our hard work paid off," said Erwin, demonstrating the team’s growth and resilience.
