CARLSBAD, Calif. – The Tennessee women’s golf team finds itself in the midst of an exhilarating showdown as they sit tied for 13th place after two rounds at the NCAA Championships hosted at the picturesque Omni La Costa Resort & Spa’s Champions Course.

The Lady Vols faced the afternoon wave on Saturday, posting a solid score of 9-over for the day. Currently, they stand at a cumulative 12-over, neck-and-neck with their in-state rival, Vanderbilt. With the impending cut in the field to 15 teams following Sunday’s action, every stroke counts as the competition heats up.

Key Performances

Despite a rocky start in round one, junior Manassanan Chotikabhukkana emerged as a beacon of resilience. She carded an impressive even-par 72, marking the team’s lowest score of the day. Chotikabhukkana showcased her skills by maintaining par on both sides of the course and enters the third round tied for 53rd.

Joining her in the performance spotlight, teammates Kyra Van Kan, Sofie Engeseth, and Martina Lopez-Lanchares each contributed to the team’s scorecard with respective rounds of 75. Their consistent play is crucial, as they look to elevate the team’s standing as the championship progresses.
