Marquette University Athletics: A New Chapter for Golden Eagles Soccer

MILWAUKEE — The anticipation is palpable in the air as the Marquette University men’s soccer team unveils its exciting 2025 schedule! Get ready for an exhilarating season filled with 12 thrilling home matches at the renowned Valley Fields.

Crafting a Competitive Schedule

Head coach David Korn has meticulously curated a schedule aimed at pushing his squad to new heights. "Our goal with the non-conference season was to set up competitive home games against teams with NCAA tournament experience from last year," Korn stated. "These games will challenge our team and foster growth as we prepare for conference play. We can’t wait to showcase our incredible facility and university here at Marquette."

Key Dates to Mark on the Calendar

Season Kickoff

The Golden Eagles will kick off their campaign with a pair of exhibition matches in mid-August, leading to a six-match homestand starting on August 21. The Golden Eagles will take on Bradley at 6 p.m. (CT) in an exciting student welcome game.

Highlights of the Home Schedule

  • September 6: Battle against Wisconsin — A matchup against in-state rivals!
  • September 23: Competing in the 51st Milwaukee Cup.
  • October 21: Senior Night vs. Edgewood — a moment to celebrate the team’s leadership.

BIG EAST Conference Action

The stakes rise as Marquette begins its BIG EAST play on September 19 at Creighton. Fans can look forward to the league home opener against Seton Hall on September 27, with the regular season finale against Villanova on November 7.

A Challenging Road Ahead

The upcoming schedule is impressive, featuring matchups against four teams that were ranked in the top 25 in the previous season’s United Soccer Coaches polls. Furthermore, the squad will face off against four other programs that competed in the 2024 NCAA Men’s College Cup, including Akron, North Florida, Providence, and Seton Hall.

A Strong Returning Core

The Golden Eagles come stronger than ever with 21 returning letterwinners. This includes veteran players like Justin Milovanov, Tristan Rønnestad-Stevens, Kyle Bebej, and Matthew Iriarte, who will be stepping up as team captains for this season.
