Marshall Women’s Golf Shines in Round Two of the Golfweek/Stifel Spring Challenge
Pawley’s Island, S.C. – The excitement was palpable as Marshall Women’s Golf took to the lush fairways of Caledonia Golf and Fish Club for Day Two of the highly anticipated Golfweek/Stifel Spring Challenge. In a stunning display of improvement, the Thundering Herd sliced 10 strokes off their Day One total, showcasing determination and resilience on the course.
Stepping Up the Game
Dedication and hard work paid off in the form of strategic play as Coach Brooke Burkhammer expressed her satisfaction with the team’s performance. "It was great to see our team’s improvement from Day One," she emphasized. "They made some key shots and really gained confidence heading into tomorrow’s final day."
Individual Highlights
Amidst the swirling winds that made conditions challenging, standout performer Olivia Kochan illuminated the scorecard with a remarkable 3-over 74. Her prowess was evident as she registered a pair of birdies while expertly navigating the course to minimize mistakes.
But she wasn’t alone in grabbing the spotlight. Fellow teammate Abbey Bull demonstrated her growing skill set, clinching three birdies over the day, including two on the final three holes. Her strong finish resulted in a commendable score of 4-over 75.
Not to be outdone, Madison Borders continued her stellar form, also finishing the day with a 4-over 75, producing an impressive even-par effort during critical points of her round.
