But that’s not all—she also snagged Second Team All-American accolades for vault. This recognition is awarded to the crème de la crème of NCAA athletes; specifically, the top eight finishers, alongside any ties, of the regular season across all events.
Dominating the Competition
The word “dominant” barely scratches the surface of Carey’s extraordinary senior season. Heading into postseason competition, she stands tall as the national leader in both the all-around and beam categories. Out of 44 total routines, Carey has delivered stunning performances, achieving a jaw-dropping 39 scores of 9.900 or above. This includes 21 scores of 9.950 or higher, with an astounding 11 scores reaching 9.975 or above—alongside three flawless 10s that she clinched during the final weeks of the regular season.
A Historic All-Around Score
The Phoenix, Ariz. native made waves in gymnastic history when she tied for the fourth-highest all-around score in NCAA history with an incredible 39.925 against Air Force on March 15. This phenomenal performance featured scores of 9.950 on vault, 9.975 on bars, and a remarkable pair of 10s on both beam and floor. Notably, she has maintained a consistency that is unparalleled, never scoring below 9.900 on either beam or floor throughout the regular season. Impressively, she achieved a beam score of 9.950 or better in nine out of eleven appearances, with seven of those being 9.975 or higher.
Record-Breaking Achievements
As her season progresses, Carey has amassed an astounding 43 event titles over 11 appearances in 2025. This tally includes 11 in the all-around, 11 on beam, and 10 on floor. Breaking barriers, she has etched her name in Pac-12 history by being the first gymnast to win both the all-around and beam titles in every single appearance throughout a single season.
NQS and Rankings
Entering the NCAA Regional, Carey is ranked 15th on vault (with a 9.910 NQS), 7th on bars (with a 9.940 NQS), and boasts the top position on beam (with a stellar 9.975 NQS). Additionally, she holds the 7th rank on floor (with a 9.950 NQS) and leads the nation in the all-around category with an impressive 39.775 NQS.
