Penn Badgley Sets the Record Straight: It Is Not James!
Penn Badgley is making headlines again, and this time it’s not just for his role in “You.” The actor recently confirmed a surprising truth about his 4-year-old son’s name, and let’s just say, it’s not what you might think!
Who’s Your Daddy? Correcting the Record
In a recent appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” Badgley shared a rather peculiar fact that has been swirling around the internet. Despite what Wikipedia claims, the name of his beloved son is not James.
"This is a very weird thing to say, but our littlest who is 4… everybody is like, ‘What on earth is he about to say?’” Badgley revealed.
The Wikipedia Woes
Badgley, 38, expressed his frustration with how misinformation can spread online. He and his wife, Domino Kirke, have attempted to correct the entry on Wikipedia for years, only to find it mysteriously reappearing.
“The internet, on Wikipedia, for many years, his name was James. And we’d get it removed; it would go back,” he said, emphasizing, “His name’s not James.”
A Father’s Mission
Badgley felt compelled to address the issue, stating that if he has a platform, he might as well use it to clear the air. The actor found himself in awkward moments when even close friends misaddressed his son, “sending cards addressed to ‘James.’”
He reflected, “I just thought, ‘Well, you know what? I have a platform, why not clear the air?’”
Keeping it Private
While Badgley confidently dismisses the James rumor, he has opted to keep his son’s actual name under wraps for privacy reasons.
“His name, because he’s 4 [years old], will remain undisclosed for as long as we can,” he hinted, teasing, “It’s a good name though!”
Exciting Times Ahead!
In addition to clarifying his son’s name, Badgley also shared exciting news about the family’s future. He and Kirke are expecting twin boys this summer!
“It’s thrilling, obviously,” Badgley expressed. “It’s such a nice dose of reality. Like every time I see the sonogram, it just… it feels so good.”
A Family of Four—Soon to be Six!
Badgley also shared his experience as a stepfather to Kirke’s 16-year-old son, Cassius. The couple’s household is buzzing with excitement as both older children are eager about the twins’ arrival.
“The 4-year-old we have — I just said it like he’s a bag or something — he’s stoked because he really wants to be a big brother,” Badgley gushed.
Parenting, It’s a Whole New Game
As for diving deeper into this new journey of fatherhood, Badgley humorously noted, “I’m going to be parenting them? I’m going to have to raise them!”
With his charming wit and relatable anecdotes, Penn Badgley proves that even celebrities face everyday challenges—like clearing up incorrect names!
