Princeton Women’s Golf Team Prepares for the 2025 Ivy League Championship

As pride and competition converge, the Princeton women’s golf team gears up for a thrilling showdown at the 2025 Ivy League Championship. Set against the lush backdrop of Royal Palm Golf Club in Naples, Florida, the event promises to be a remarkable display of sport, skill, and school spirit from April 18-20.

A Historic Legacy in Ivy League Golf

For those unfamiliar with the tremendous legacy of Princeton golf, let’s set the stage. The Tigers have secured seven Ivy League championships, tying them for the second-most titles in history, right alongside Yale and just behind Harvard. Their most recent triumph came in 2022, reinforcing their status as a powerhouse in the league.

The Championship Heritage

Over the course of 26 tournaments, Princeton proudly possesses the most individual champions with a remarkable 11 medalist honors won by seven different golfers. Notably, Mary Moan blazed the trail as the first Ivy League champion in 1997, while Victoria Liu took the crown recently, clinching her second individual title at Stanwich Country Club last year. This storied history is not just a footnote but a driving force as the team heads into this year’s championship.

Current Season: A Show of Dominance

The 2025 Ivy League Championship will see the Tigers enter the competition armed with two team victories this season—the Nittany Lion Invitational and the Princeton Invitational—along with two additional runner-up finishes at the Columbia Classic and River Landing Classic. It’s safe to say the Tigers are not just participants; they are contenders.

Standout Performers

This season has showcased an array of talent, with three different Tigers celebrating individual tournament victories:

  • Catherine Rao: Triumphantly won both the Nittany Lion Invitational and Columbia Classic.
  • Victoria Liu: Took top honors at the Princeton Invitational.
  • Olivia Duan: Emerged victorious at the River Landing Classic.

This dynamic team chemistry highlights the blend of experience and emerging talent on the squad.
