‘The Bridge Solution’ Launches an Inspiring Initiative at Stonewell
Last Wednesday marked a momentous occasion at the Stonewell Worship Center, as Crystal York’s nonprofit, The Bridge Solution, officially kicked off its ambitious project aimed at addressing pressing community needs in the East Thomaston area. With a vision to “bridge the gap” in food, housing, and job opportunities, this initiative promises to make a significant impact on the lives of local residents.

This innovative development has garnered attention for its comprehensive approach to improving food access and housing. Recently, The Bridge Solution received a substantial $1.5 million grant from the United States Department of Agriculture. This funding is earmarked for establishing a food hub that will serve as a vital source of fresh, healthy food for census tract 105, an area identified by Thomaston’s Urban Redevelopment Authority.
“Our goal is to empower the community with resources that promote self-sustainability, including access to a variety of foods,” said York.

The project, planned for a seven-acre property at 213 Park Lane, will transform the current site surrounding the old East Thomaston School into a thriving hub. Among the exciting features are:
