Michigan Wolverines Make Their Mark at the Chattanooga Classic

The University of Michigan women’s golf team kicked off the Chattanooga Classic with a strong start on Thursday, securing a position of 13th place after the first round at the prestigious Honors Course in Ooltewah, Tennessee. With a first-round team total of 311, the Wolverines showed promise against a fierce lineup of competition.

A Standout Performance

Leading the charge for the Maize and Blue was Sydney Sung, who displayed exceptional skill and composure on the course. With a flawless performance that included 12 pars and a single birdie, she finished the day with a score of 76, placing her in a tie for 24th among individual competitors. Sydney’s sister, Lauren Sung, also contributed significantly, carding an impressive 77 (tied for 34th) by managing 11 pars and a birdie of her own.

It’s worth noting that Thomasine Bartholdson is making her second consecutive start for Michigan, adding depth to the team’s lineup as they tackle the challenging 6,108-yard par 72 course.
