Senior Emma Douglass secured her place in the quarterfinals of the women’s 1500m, finishing third in her qualifying heat with an impressive time of 4:15.48. Her teammate, junior Elizabeth Whaley, clocked an even faster 4:15.38, grabbing the fastest time among non-automatic qualifiers to join Douglass in the next round. Both athletes are now gearing up for their upcoming challenge, aiming to punch their tickets to the NCAA Championship meet this Saturday afternoon.
Closing Rounds and Newcomers’ Contributions
Unfortunately, not every story ended in advancement. Senior Rylan Engels wrapped up her season in the women’s 1500m with a commendable finish of 4:17.56, demonstrating grit until the very end. On a brighter note, freshman Angelina Perez concluded the evening with a 26th place finish in the women’s 10,000m, posting a time of 34:11.07.
Freshman Talent Shines in Javelin
Earlier in the day, the spotlight fell on freshman duo Rosalind Gergely and Julia Pinter in the women’s javelin event.
