Exciting News for Windows Insiders: Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 26200.5518 Released!
Hello, Windows Insiders! We’re thrilled to announce that the highly anticipated Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 26200.5518 (KB5054687) is now available in the Dev Channel. This update marks a significant leap forward, packed with new features and enhancements designed to improve your computing experience. Let’s dive into what’s new!
What’s New in Build 26200.5518?
IMPORTANT REMINDER: With the release of Build 26200.5510 on March 24th, the Dev Channel has taken a significant step forward, adopting the 26200 series builds. Previously, users could switch between the Dev and Beta Channels; however, that window is now closed. These builds are rooted in Windows 11, version 24H2, bringing a host of features and improvements that parallel the ongoing updates in the Beta Channel.
New Features Gradually Rolling Out
Taskbar Icon Scaling: A Game-Changer!
Say goodbye to a cluttered taskbar! The innovative taskbar icon scaling feature is here to streamline your workflow. When your taskbar becomes crowded with pinned or open applications, icons will automatically resize to ensure you have an unobstructed view.
Customization Options:
- When Taskbar is Full: Default option, allowing icons to automatically scale down, giving you access to more apps.
- Never: Keep your icons at their original size irrespective of the number of open apps.
- Always: For those who adore the small icon aesthetic, select this to keep them tiny permanently.
To adjust your settings, simply right-click an empty space on your taskbar and navigate to “Taskbar settings.” It’s all about enhancing your productivity!
We want your feedback! Please visit the Feedback Hub (WIN + F) and share your thoughts under Desktop Environment > Taskbar.
Streamlining File Sharing with the New Drag Tray
Sharing files just got significantly more efficient! The new drag tray feature allows you to easily drop files from your desktop or File Explorer into selected apps, all thanks to a handy tray that pops up at the top of your screen. This means quicker, smoother file sharing without hunting through menus.
We’d love your input! Provide feedback on this feature in the Feedback Hub (WIN + F) under Files, Folders, and Online Storage > File sharing.
