Welcoming their first donation barrel to Cuba were Derek Scott, Assistant Manager of the Giant Food Mart, and Jackie Blachowski, President of WNY Food 4 Paws, alongside Ellie, who embodies the spirit of this initiative. But that’s just the beginning!
How It Works: A Sustainable Solution for Pet Care
WNY Food 4 Paws collaborates closely with manufacturers, pet supply stores, grocery chains, and local community partners to gather essential pet food and supplies. These much-needed resources are then redistributed to local food pantries across Western New York, including Erie, Niagara, Chautauqua, and now Allegany County!
The cooperation with the Giant Food Marts in Cuba and Wellsville is a pivotal step in this expansion. Both stores will host donation barrels, making it easier than ever for community members to contribute. Every donation directly supports local food pantries, ensuring that no pet goes hungry.
Making a Difference with Every Donation
At the Wellsville location, Jessie McKee, Assistant Manager, alongside Jackie, volunteer Brenda Bradley, and furry mascots Ellie and Scout, stood ready to accept their first donations. The initiative aims to significantly bolster the pet food and supplies available at local pantries, with notable recent recipients being the Genesee Food Pantry and the Rushford Food Pantry.
