Women’s Ice Hockey Unveils an Exciting 2025-26 Schedule
BOSTON – The Boston University women’s ice hockey team is gearing up for an action-packed season with the announcement of their 2025-26 schedule. With 33 thrilling regular-season contests, including 24 intense Hockey East matchups, fans are in for a treat!
Start Strong: Preseason and Early Games
The season will kick off with an exhibition game against Concordia on September 26 at the Walter Brown Arena. This initial matchup sets the tone for what promises to be a competitive year. The Terriers will officially launch their campaign with a home series against Minnesota on October 3-4. Following that, a two-game road trip to Colgate on October 10-11 will test the team’s mettle before they return home to face Brown on October 17.
Hockey East Showdowns: Intense Rivalries Await
The first Hockey East encounter will take place right at home against New Hampshire on October 24. Shortly after, the Terriers will engage in their first home-and-home series against rivals Northeastern—hosting the Huskies on October 31 and heading across town on November 1.
High Stakes in November: Record Attendance at Agganis?
November promises to be a month of excitement, beginning with crucial games against Maine on November 7-8 and a match-up at Boston College on November 13. The following day, BU will host BC once again at Aganis Arena, aiming to shatter their own Hockey East home game attendance record of 2,866, set during last season’s clash against the Eagles.
This month’s action continues with a thrilling home-and-home series against Providence on November 21-22, and road matches against Holy Cross and UConn on December 2 and December 5, leading to a rematch at home against the Huskies on December 6 to conclude the first half of the season.
International Adventure: The Friendship Series in Northern Ireland
As the calendar turns to 2024, Belfast, Northern Ireland, will be the launch pad for the second half of the season, with the Friendship Series featuring teams like Quinnipiac, Harvard, and Minnesota Duluth on January 2-3. After returning stateside, the Terriers will dive right back into Hockey East play on January 10 against UNH.
The Beanpot: A Tradition Continues
BU will hold the first round of the 43rd Women’s Beanpot on January 13, where they will face defending champions Northeastern. The other semifinal will feature BC against Harvard. Fans should mark their calendars for the championship and third-place games on January 20.
Closing the Season with Rivals and Key Matches
As February approaches, the Terriers will tackle ten remaining regular-season games against seven different opponents, including a home series against Vermont on January 23-24. A busy February will see them visiting Vermont on the 5th, hosting Maine on the 7th, and finishing their regular season with critical games against their crosstown rival Northeastern on February 13, and UConn on February 14. The last regular-season game is set for February 21 at BC.
