Georgetown University’s women’s openweight rowing team had a stellar weekend, dominating the waters of the GW Invitational and making significant strides at the historic Knecht Cup. Competing against formidable foes, the Hoyas showcased their intense training and deep talent pool, achieving remarkable results that promise an exciting season ahead.
GW Invitational: Unstoppable Force
The GW Invitational was nothing short of exhilarating, with the Hoyas delivering a jaw-dropping performance. Head Coach Kendall Mulligan expressed his pride in the team’s efforts, stating, "The team had a great showing at the GW Invite, winning 13 of 14 duels. The depth of the team continues to drive success at every level, and we are looking forward to using the progress we made this weekend throughout the season."

Women’s Collegiate 1V8 Heat Two vs. UCSD
Lilly Bartilucci (Cox) led her crew to a stunning 1st-place finish with a time of 6:35.21.Women’s Collegiate 2V8 Heat Two vs. UCSD

Maca Morales (Cox) powered her boat to yet another 1st-place finish, achieving a time of 7:03.77.

As if the excitement from the GW Invitational wasn’t enough, the team continued to shine at the Knecht Cup held in Cherry Hill, New Jersey.

Isabella DeLeo delivered an outstanding race, finishing 1st out of six boats with a time of 6:51.93—a powerful testament to her team’s consistency and commitment.Women’s Lightweight Eight Final
DeLeo’s strength carried through as she helped her lightweight crew secure a respectable 3rd place finish, with a time of 6:59.76.- Women’s Double Petite Final
Cara Appleberry displayed her grit as she crossed the line in 3rd place with a time of 8:21.15, exemplifying the competitive spirit of the Hoya team.
